Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held the '2024 Volunteer Day' commemorative ceremony on December 2nd at the Cheongsong Culture and Arts Center Grand Performance Hall in celebration of Volunteer Day.
Volunteer Day is observed annually on December 5th to honor the dedication of volunteers who contribute to the development of local communities and support their neighbors, and to reemphasize their value. This year's ceremony reflected on the meaning of volunteering and included a fundraising event to help neighbors, aiming to spread a culture of sharing.
The event, themed "Your Day, The World's Hope!", was attended by approximately 360 volunteers.
In the first part, a video showcasing the volunteers' activities over the past year was screened, followed by awards presented to individuals and groups who contributed to the promotion of volunteerism. In the second part, volunteer organizations participated in the fundraising for neighborly support, putting love for neighbors into practice.
Governor Yoon Kyung-hee expressed, "I am grateful for the dedication of volunteers who practice love for their neighbors, and I will continue to actively support volunteer activities in cooperation with the local community to lead the creation of a Cheongsong-gun filled with sharing and consideration."
