This evaluation, conducted from the second half of this year, covered the overall operation of the Dream Start project with 30 indicators across 10 areas in 4 fields, targeting a total of 82 basic local governments including rural and urban areas.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare evaluated basic local governments (rural areas) through document and case evaluations, case management interviews, and surveys, selecting the top 20% of institutions as excellent Dream Start project institutions, and awarded Yeongyang-gun as an excellent institution.
This is the first time Yeongyang-gun has received an institutional commendation while operating the Dream Start project, reflecting the excellent evaluation results from focusing on developing policies suitable for Yeongyang’s characteristics, environment, and the healthy growth of children and families.
Governor Oh Do-chang said, “Yeongyang-gun will continue to strive to provide customized integrated services to vulnerable children to promote their healthy growth and development, ensure equal starting opportunities, and help them become healthy and happy members of society.”
Since the opening of the Dream Start Center in 2013, Yeongyang-gun Dream Start has been managing cases of about 80 low-income vulnerable children with two professional child integrated case managers, providing customized integrated services in connection with various resources within the local community.
