Yeoncheon-gun Holds 'Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony' at Jeongok Station Plaza

Yeoncheon County in Gyeonggi Province and the Yeoncheon County Christian Association held a Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the 1st in front of Yeoncheon Jeongok Station Plaza, attended by about 500 people including Kim Deok-hyeon, Yeoncheon County Governor, Kim Mi-kyung, Chairperson of Yeoncheon County Council, council members, Lee Rak-jae, President of the Yeoncheon County Christian Association, and residents.

This event was organized to convey messages of hope and love through the lights of the Christmas tree and to provide precious memories for the residents.

Kim Deok-hyeon, Yeoncheon County Governor, said in his congratulatory speech, “I thank everyone who participated in the Christmas tree lighting ceremony,” and added, “I hope the lights of the tree will carry our wishes and serve as an opportunity to deliver hope and warmth to our neighbors and society.”

Lee Rak-jae, President of the Yeoncheon County Christian Association, stated, “On the first day of December 2024, the association raised funds to create the Christmas tree to celebrate the birth of Jesus,” and added, “With this tree installation, we hope to share the joy of Christmas with the residents and that it becomes a message of hope, bringing bright light to the community.”

Meanwhile, the Yeoncheon County Christian Association donated 5 million won in year-end neighbor-helping funds to Yeoncheon County on the same day.
