Implementation of Development Service for Utilizing National Patents in Processed Foods and Commercialization Support

On the 3rd, Yeoju City in Gyeonggi Province announced that the Agricultural Technology Center held an interim report meeting for the Agricultural Product Processing Technology Standardization Project, attended by about 20 people including the Mayor of Yeoju, farmers, and processing companies.

At the meeting, which was held together with two farms wishing to transfer technology among agricultural management entities using the Agricultural Product Comprehensive Processing Center, starting from the commencement of the service for the Agricultural Product Processing Technology Standardization Project in April, participants tasted and evaluated products such as a "rice fermented beverage" manufacturing method utilizing national patents and flavored peanuts applying peanut oxidation prevention technology.

The "Agricultural Product Processing Technology Standardization Project" is a project supporting the incubation of agricultural entrepreneurs, aiming to develop processed products using local agricultural and specialty products by utilizing national patents and improving processing procedures.

As a result, products such as a "rice fermented beverage" and "rice fermented ginger beverage" using Yeoju's representative specialty rice (Jinsangmi) were developed, along with various products like flavored peanuts applying oxidation prevention technology using broken or damaged imperfect peanuts.

Mayor Lee Chung-woo of Yeoju said, "We will systematically and solidly operate the Agricultural Product Comprehensive Processing Center to solve the processing technology difficulties of local farmers through professional agricultural product processing startup support and to increase farm income."
