Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) will distribute the 'Snow Car Mask,' a vehicle windshield cover made from recycled eco-friendly materials such as used banners, starting from the 3rd.
Paju City designed the 'Snow Car Mask,' a vehicle windshield cover, to enable the recycling of 'Sangnyanghan' eco-friendly banners used at events and other occasions.
The 'Snow Car Mask' is a recycled product designed as a vehicle cover inspired by the shape of a mask, intended to prepare for heavy snowfall. The city plans to produce and distribute 160 units.
Applications can be made both online and offline. Applicants are encouraged to participate in product usability and effectiveness reviews and satisfaction surveys on the Paju City website bulletin board.
Jang Hye-hyun, Director of the Architecture and Design Division, stated, "Last month, an abnormal climate event triggered a heavy snowfall warning for the first time in 17 years since modern meteorological observations began in 1907. Articles are reporting that 2024 is the hottest year in history due to climate change." She added, "Supporting the discovery of effective recycled products to reduce environmental pollution and promote resource circulation is a practical action to mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis. We will continue to pursue sustainable eco-friendly outdoor advertising policies."
