Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has begun proactive disaster response preparations to ensure the safety of residents and tourists from various winter disasters such as heavy snowfall and freezing, and to minimize inconvenience.

The county has designated the period from November 15 to March 15 of the following year as the "Winter Snow Countermeasure Promotion Period" to prepare for heavy snowfall during the 2024?2025 winter season, aiming to completely resolve residents' inconveniences caused by heavy snow and ensure smooth vehicle traffic.

On the 2nd, Vice Governor Jo Yeomun visited major mountainous roads to inspect overall winter snow removal operations, including automatic brine spraying devices, and stated, "Please do your best to complete road maintenance perfectly before the winter season and strengthen patrol activities regularly to prevent winter accidents and ensure no disruption to vehicle traffic." He added, "Through thorough winter preparations, we will guarantee residents' safety and provide a pleasant road environment to deliver trusted administration to the residents."

Hamyang-gun Promotes Rapid and Systematic Snow Removal Measures to Minimize Resident Inconvenience Jo Yeomun, Deputy Governor of Hamyang County, is visiting the road snow removal forward base and inspecting the preparation status of snow damage countermeasures.

Hamyang-gun plans to mobilize all equipment and personnel for prompt and systematic snow removal during the snow countermeasure period, as well as take proactive measures.

First, the county is deploying ice-melting agents and sandbags on mountainous road sections, expected traffic cutoff areas, and shaded roads by mobilizing all snow removal vehicles and equipment to prepare for sudden weather changes.

Additionally, the county has secured 8 snow removal dump trucks, 3 excavators, 11 trucks owned by towns and townships, and 81 tractor-mounted snow removal machines to respond quickly in case of snowfall.

Snow removal materials necessary for snow clearing have also been secured early, with 675 tons of calcium chloride, 331 tons of salt, and 400 cubic meters of sand stockpiled proactively.

The county plans to distribute and place the secured snow removal materials in mountainous isolated areas where snow removal vehicles have difficulty accessing, as well as on side roads and shaded sections to prevent road freezing and safety accidents caused by slipping, encouraging local residents to voluntarily participate in snow removal.

At the same time, immediate measures will be taken to address deficiencies in snow removal warehouses, forward bases, and equipment to create a safe road environment. In areas difficult for equipment access, public officials, related organizations, and residents will cooperate to clear snow, and through campaigns such as "Clearing Snow in Front of Your House," the county aims to ensure residents' travel safety and minimize inconvenience.
