Pukyong National University Sweeps Grand Prize and Best Award at Busan U Startup Package IR Pitching Competition

The student team from Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon) won the grand prize at the Busan U Startup Package IR Pitching Competition.

This competition, organized jointly by Busan City and the Pukyong National University Busan U Startup Package Project Group, was held to present business ideas and share achievements among 38 university startup teams from 14 universities participating in the Busan U Startup Package project.

Held on November 26 at the Homers Hotel in Busan, the competition featured nine teams selected through practical investment training, business model advancement, and prototype production stages, competing for the final awards.

The grand prize winner, the Pukyong National University Fore team (Choi Min-seok, Jung Eun-seo), received the Busan Mayor’s Award for their startup item, the “AI-based SNS Hot Place Integrated Storage Social Map App.”

This startup item was evaluated as having the highest potential for commercialization and startup success because it allows automatic classification and management through AI when SNS content is shared on the app.

Additionally, the Pukyong National University Jigeum·Lab team (Nam Woo-jin, Lee Ga-eun) won the Excellence Award, the Busan Venture Business Association President’s Award, for their “Gen AI-based Service Promotion Solution, Phase On.”

The winning teams of this competition will also have the opportunity to participate in the “Global Startup Camp” held in Tokyo, Japan, in January next year.

Ryu Ji-yeol, head of the Pukyong National University Busan U Startup Package Project Group, said, “We plan to continuously share excellent startup ideas from participating universities and use this as an opportunity to form a startup network among universities, further expanding shared collaboration linked with local governments in the future.”
