DevSisters announced on the 3rd that Cookie Run will officially launch its service in India on the 11th.
DevSisters and Krafton had earlier opened the official Cookie Run India website and started pre-registration on the 12th of last month, marking the beginning of their full-scale activities.
Based on the mobile game Cookie Run, which was first introduced in 2013, DevSisters' subsidiary studio Kingdom is responsible for content development, while Krafton handles local service and marketing.
The company stated that since India is a market where early experiences with mobile games are being formed, they aim to secure a diverse local user base by leveraging Cookie Run's intuitive gameplay.
To this end, they will introduce India-themed content reflecting local culture, as well as new modes and ranking systems considering Indian users' preference for competitive play. They plan to offer affordable products and packages tailored to local purchasing tendencies to build positive buying experiences.
Additionally, communication activities will be carried out in line with the content market trend where interest in characters is increasing.
Joo Gil-hyun, CEO of DevSisters, said, "We predict that in the early-stage Indian game market, user base expansion and play experience dissemination centered on the casual genre will accelerate. Since Cookie Run has consistently provided light yet immersive fun that anyone can enjoy from the early days of the domestic mobile game market until now, we expect to secure a meaningful user base in India as well."
Son Hyun-il, head of Krafton's India branch, said, "Our goal is for Indian users to feel both familiar and new fun through India-themed content."
