Kakao Pay Securities announced on the 3rd that it successfully concluded the ‘Youth Mock Stock Investment Competition’ held jointly with the Seoul Metropolitan Suseo Youth Center, utilizing the artificial intelligence (AI) service ‘Stock Bot’.
Now in its second year, the ‘Youth Mock Stock Investment Competition’ is an event planned by the Seoul Metropolitan Suseo Youth Center to provide young people with proper stock investment experience and to expand their knowledge of economics and finance. Approximately 200 youths participated in the competition over a three-week period from the 4th to the 22nd of last month.
During the competition, Kakao Pay Securities provided a simulated investment environment similar to real conditions by using ‘Stock Bot.’ Stock Bot is an AI service offered by Kakao Pay Securities in collaboration with Kakao Pay and Kakao. After adding the ‘Stock Bot’ chatbot in a KakaoTalk team chat room, users can ask questions about stock prices, company information, discussion rooms, and receive appropriate answers, as well as try simulated investments. Currently, it is implemented only in KakaoTalk’s team chat function, but there are plans to expand its use to open chat rooms in the future.
At the awards ceremony, Shin Ho-cheol, CEO of Kakao Pay Securities, personally presented the second prize, the ‘Kakao Pay Securities CEO Award,’ and spent time communicating with the youths. The event received great response as it provided practical advice on careers in the financial sector and opportunities to resolve questions about securities company roles and the company overall.
Through this competition, Kakao Pay Securities aimed to contribute to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management practices and the creation of social value for future generations, going beyond simply providing financial services. In particular, the focus was on supporting youths to indirectly experience the investment environment and prepare their own economic futures.
Jung Young-hwa, director of the Seoul Metropolitan Suseo Youth Center, said, “This year’s competition was a valuable opportunity for youths not only to learn financial common sense but also to deepen their understanding of stock investment and economic trends, enabling them to prepare for their futures independently. Thanks to the active cooperation of Kakao Pay Securities, we were able to successfully conclude the event.”
Shin Ho-cheol, CEO of Kakao Pay Securities, stated, “Going forward, we plan to continuously expand ESG management activities in line with the group’s integrated win-win business policy, ‘Closer, Kakao,’ by enhancing youths’ economic capabilities and awareness of a healthy investment culture through various social contribution activities and financial investment education programs.”
