Elton John "Lost my sight, can't watch the musicals I composed"

"Studio Recording Difficulties Delay Album Production"

British pop legend Elton John (77) revealed that he has lost his eyesight to the extent that he cannot watch the musical performance he composed himself.

On the night of the 1st (local time) in London, John took the stage at a charity performance of the musical The Devil Wears Prada and said, "I have lost my eyesight, so I couldn't attend many previews," adding, "But I heard it was really good."

That day, he expressed gratitude for his husband David Furnish, calling him "a rock-solid person." He was helped off the stage with Furnish's support.

In an interview on the American show Good Morning America last week, John said, "Unfortunately, I lost the sight in my right eye due to an infection in southern France in July, and I have not been able to see for four months," adding, "My left eye is not good either." He also explained that his vision problems have made studio recording difficult, delaying his next album work.

Meanwhile, the musical The Devil Wears Prada is based on the novel of the same name. John composed the music for the musical version.

American actress and singer Vanessa Williams plays Miranda Priestly, the fashion magazine editor originally portrayed by Meryl Streep in the film. Priestly is known to be modeled after Anna Wintour, the influential editor of Vogue who has a huge impact on the fashion industry.
