Realizing the Image of Elderly Volunteers and Respected Seniors
The 22nd graduation ceremony of the Senior Citizens' University in Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam, was successfully held on November 29th in the third-floor conference room of the Senior Citizens' Association, with about 100 attendees including graduates, executives, and heads of organizations.

On this day, a large number of heads of organizations and families of the graduates, including County Governor Oh Tae-wan, attended and extended congratulations and encouragement to the elderly receiving their diplomas.
The Uiryeong-gun Senior Citizens' University opened on April 12th and was conducted over a total of 24 weeks and 48 hours, offering various courses such as health and medical knowledge, humanities, hobby classes, and safety education. A total of 64 graduates received diplomas, including 30 men and 34 women. Since its inception in 1995, the Uiryeong-gun Senior Citizens' University has produced a total of 1,909 graduates through 2024.
On this day, student leader Kim Jong-ga and vice student leader Lee Pil-sook received volunteer awards from the Uiryeong County Governor, and seniors Lee Ok-ja and Choi Sung-chul received merit awards from the chairman of the Uiryeong County Council, with a total of 44 graduates receiving awards.
Jang Hyuk-du, president of the Korean Senior Citizens Association Uiryeong-gun branch, said, “This year as well, our Senior Citizens' University operated various courses so that the elderly can learn and acquire knowledge to enjoy a healthy and happy life,” and urged, “Let us all learn and practice more to embody the image of seniors who serve and are respected.”
