The 'Female Filmmaker of the Year Award' ceremony will be held on the 16th at 7:30 PM at Indiespace in Mapo-gu, Seoul, the Women Filmmakers Association announced on the 2nd.
The event will be hosted by actress Moon So-ri. The 'Female Filmmaker of the Year Award' is an awards ceremony hosted by the Women Filmmakers Association as part of the 2024 Women Filmmakers Festival, recognizing filmmakers who have made notable achievements throughout the year. This year marks the 25th anniversary. There are a total of 12 categories awarded, including the highest honor, Female Filmmaker of the Year, the Achievement Award, the Kang Soo-yeon Award, Producer Award, Director Award, Screenplay Award, Acting Award, New Actress Award, Documentary Award, Technical Award, Public Relations & Marketing Award, and New Director Award.
The recipients are selected by the 2024 Women Filmmakers Festival 'Female Filmmaker of the Year Award' selection committee, based on theatrical releases and original films on online video services (OTT) from November 1, 2023, to October 31 of this year. Among these, the Acting Award and New Actress Award are determined by combining the opinions of the Women Filmmakers Association members, who are active female filmmakers, and the final selection committee at the event.
