Jung-gu, Jungnang-gu, and Seocho-gu in Seoul lit Christmas trees in their district office plazas, wishing for a warm year-end.
Christmas Tree Lighting in the Lobby of Jung-gu Office 1st Floor
Jung-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Gil-seong) held a lighting ceremony on the afternoon of the 28th at 5:30 PM in the lobby of the district office’s 1st floor, attended by Mayor Kim Gil-seong, Chairman Yoon Dong-gyu, members of the parish council, district office staff, and residents. During the worship service, prayers were offered that the Christmas lights would brightly illuminate every corner of Jung-gu and become a warm light of comfort and hope.
Following this, the Salvation Army Bryce Band performed a congratulatory concert, greatly enhancing the Christmas atmosphere. Then, with a united voice, a countdown was held, and the Christmas tree was lit.
The 6-meter tall large tree will brighten the plaza in front of the district office for about a month, conveying a warm year-end and New Year atmosphere to passersby.
Mayor Kim Gil-seong of Jung-gu said, “I hope the Christmas tree, a symbol of love and hope, will brightly illuminate the hearts of Jung-gu residents,” adding, “Like the lights that brighten the winter nights, Jung-gu will carefully watch over and brighten every corner.”
Christmas Tree Lighting at Jungnang-gu Citizen Plaza
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held a Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the evening of the 29th at Jungnang-gu Citizen Plaza, hosted by the Jungnang-gu Parish Council.
The lighting ceremony was attended by Jungnang-gu Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi, members of the Jungnang-gu Parish Council, believers, and residents. The event began with a commemorative worship service in the district office’s 1st floor lobby, followed by moving to the plaza to light the Christmas tree.
The tree, installed to deliver joy for the upcoming Christmas and to promise a hopeful New Year, will welcome residents passing by the district office until December 29.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “I hope the light we brightly lit today with our neighbors will bring warm blessings and warmth to all Jungnang-gu residents this winter,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to be a Jungnang-gu that communicates with residents and practices the values of hope and sharing.”
Seocho-gu Lights Christmas Tree in District Office Plaza on the 29th of Last Month
Seocho-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced that it held the ‘2024 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony’ at the district office plaza on the 29th of last month to mark the year-end.
Hosted by the Seocho Parish Council, this Christmas tree lighting ceremony has been held annually since 2010, brightly illuminating the district office plaza and conveying messages of love and peace.
The event took place in Seocho Plaza on the 1st floor of the district office with a congratulatory performance and a thanksgiving worship service, followed by the tree lighting ceremony in the district office plaza. The 6-meter tall large tree lit that day will brighten the district office plaza daily from 6 PM to 10 PM until January 31 next year, delivering a message of hope.
Seocho-gu Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, “Despite the cold weather, I hope the Christmas tree lighting ceremony reminds us of the meaning of love and sharing, and that all residents welcome a warm and hopeful New Year.”
