Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, met with Andrey Belousov, Russian Minister of Defense, and emphasized that "the government, military, and people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) will unwaveringly support the Russian Federation's policy to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity against imperialist hegemonic provocations."
On the 30th, the state-run Korean Central News Agency reported that Chairman Kim met with Minister Belousov, who led the Russian military delegation visiting North Korea the previous day, and exchanged such remarks.

Chairman Kim told Minister Belousov, "The United States and the West allowing the Kyiv authorities (Ukraine) to attack Russian territory with their own long-range strike weapons is a direct military intervention in Russian territorial disputes." He also said, "Russia's resolute actions to make hostile forces pay an appropriate price constitute the exercise of the right to self-defense."
This criticized the recent Western provision of U.S.-made ATACMS and U.K.-made Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine, enabling attacks on Russian mainland, and supported Russia's responsive launch of the latest hypersonic medium-range ballistic missile 'Oreshnik' toward Ukraine.
The Korean Central News Agency reported that Chairman Kim and Minister Belousov broadly exchanged views on defense matters, the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, the protection of their sovereignty and security interests, and the upholding of international justice, reaching a satisfactory consensus.
