Baek Hyun-jin, a member of the People Power Party, rebutted Shin Pyeong, a lawyer who once served as President Yoon Seok-yeol's political mentor, after Shin claimed that "Han Dong-hoon is less humane than Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea," saying, "How can he be equated with a four-time offender with 12 criminal charges?"
On the 29th, Baek shared a link to an article containing Shin's remarks on Facebook and made this statement. Regarding Shin's comparison of Han and Lee, saying, "Lee is a person who knows how to keep human trust," and "He is definitely not someone like Han Dong-hoon," Baek responded, "He denies knowing all those who helped him, and instead of paying respects at a suspicious death, he dances the carol dance with his wife?'a person with trust'? He will soon face retribution at the judgment seat of the law."
This appears to point to Lee's claim that he did not know the late Kim Moon-gi, former head of Development Division 1 at Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, and the video Lee and his wife posted dancing to Christmas carols on the day of Kim's funeral. Baek emphasized, "How can our People Power Party leader be equated with a four-time offender with 12 criminal charges?"
Lawyer Shin appeared on Channel A's YouTube program 'No Eun-ji's Political Signal' and praised Lee Jae-myung, saying, "He is receiving harsh criticism from the opposing side regarding political ideology." Regarding Lee's first trial conviction for violating election laws, Shin said, "His statement that he did not know the late Kim Moon-gi is problematic in terms of human trust toward Kim. However, it was made with the intention of avoiding criminal responsibility under election law." He added, "Lee has led many people in a disciplined manner and has maintained a long political career. If Lee did not have such human qualities, this would be impossible."
About Han, Shin said, "Politics is fundamentally about human relationships. However, Han does not seem to inspire trust in that regard." He continued, "After the general election, Lee's side asked me to convey to the presidential office that they were willing to cooperate, and I did so. At that time, I persuaded the presidential office by saying, 'Lee is a person who knows how to keep human trust. He is definitely not someone like Han Dong-hoon.'"
