2024 Dongdaemun-gu Regional Public Safety Council Meeting Held

Discussion on Sharing Local Security Status and Establishing a Safe Dongdaemun-gu at the Dongdaemun Police Station 3rd Floor Meeting Room on the 28th

On the 28th, the 'Dongdaemun-gu Regional Public Safety Council (Chairman: Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu)' was held in the conference room on the 3rd floor of the Dongdaemun Police Station to establish legal order and build a social safety net in Dongdaemun-gu.

The Dongdaemun-gu Regional Public Safety Council is a consultative body that identifies public safety and security issues by utilizing local human resources and resolves problems through cooperation among related organizations.

On this day, four ex officio members including Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, Ko Young-jae, Chief of Dongdaemun Police Station, Lee Tae-in, Chairman of Dongdaemun-gu Council, Hong Sung-won, Disaster Management Director of Dongdaemun Fire Station, and Lee Pyeong-won, Director of Dongbu Municipal Hospital, as well as eight appointed civilian members attended.

During the meeting, major activities were shared, and the current status of local public safety in various fields such as intoxicated persons, alcohol addiction, juvenile delinquency, safety of dark alleys and school routes, and traffic signal system maintenance was discussed, exchanging opinions to establish a safer Dongdaemun-gu.

In his greeting, Mayor Lee Pil-hyung said, “I am very honored to hold the Dongdaemun-gu Regional Public Safety Council,” and added, “The love and affection of the council members toward Dongdaemun-gu will revitalize public safety in Dongdaemun-gu, and with that strength, Dongdaemun-gu can become a safe and pleasant neighborhood.”

Chief Ko Young-jae of the police station stated, “When more than 300 reports come in daily, we analyze the reports by introducing various systems,” and added, “We will continue to listen carefully to stories from various fields and cooperate with related organizations to resolve factors causing anxiety.”
