Organized by the social welfare corporation Haesong, the 'Sharing Love Kimchi Making' event is a meaningful occasion where Wolsong Headquarters sponsors the kimchi-making costs, and various local organizations participate to make kimchi, which is then directly delivered to 200 vulnerable households in the Donggyeongju area.
In particular, the napa cabbages for pickling in the Donggyeongju area are traditionally salted using clean seawater from nearby regions, and all the ingredients used for the kimchi are agricultural and marine products cultivated locally.
On this day, about 50 members of the Wolsong Nuclear Volunteer Corps, along with around 100 participants from local organizations such as the Saemaeul Women's Association, Life Improvement Association, Volunteer Fire Brigade, Korea Freedom Federation, Farmers' Housewives Association, Gampo Jeil Church, and Yangbuk Jeil Church, made kimchi from 1,200 heads of cabbage.
Kim Han-seong, head of the Wolsong Nuclear Power Headquarters, said, “Perhaps because it is made with clean seawater and high-quality local agricultural products, this is the best-tasting kimchi I have ever had,” adding, “I hope that this kimchi, made with love and sincerity, will help the local neighbors in need have a warm winter.”
