Operating BEF since 2021, Supporting Smart Farm Installation
Currently Operating 8 Locations ... First Overseas (Poland) Expansion Achievement
On the 29th, public institutions operating the Busan Economic Revitalization Support Fund (BEF, Busan ESG Fund), including Busan Port Authority (BPA), held a ceremony at the Busan International Finance Center to commemorate the export of the 9th BEF Smart Farm by Dosinongsakun Co., Ltd. to Poland.

The public institutions operating BEF include a total of nine companies: Busan Port Authority, Korea Technology Finance Corporation, Busan Urban Corporation, Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation, Korea Southern Power Co., Korea Securities Depository, Korea Asset Management Corporation, Korea Housing Finance Corporation, and Korea Ocean Business Corporation.
Dosinongsakun Agricultural Corporation, a social enterprise in Busan, received support from BEF in November 2022 and installed the BEF Smart Farm (6th branch) using a repurposed container on idle land in Yongho Byeolbit Park (formerly Yongho Pier) in Nam-gu, provided by BPA, producing leafy vegetables and mushrooms.
Earlier this month, Dosinongsakun signed a smart farm export contract with the non-profit organization Food Bank in Olsztyn, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Poland.
At the end of this month, the smart farm, equipped with cultivation equipment inside a container, will be shipped from Busan New Port to Olsztyn, Poland.
The smart farm exported to Poland is scheduled to be used for cultivating leafy vegetables and mushrooms starting February 2025.
Food Bank is a non-profit organization that provides donated food materials to those in need, supporting individuals and charitable organizations facing food shortages or economic difficulties.
Dosinongsakun, the exporting company, also operates with the purpose of providing jobs and social services to vulnerable groups, so this export carries significance beyond business by spreading social value.
Busan Port Authority supported Dosinongsakun’s export through BEF by assisting with ▲smart farm production ▲testing and inspection for entry into the European market ▲overseas shipping costs.
Since 2021, public institutions including Busan Port Authority have been supporting the installation and operation of urban agricultural facilities such as smart farms on idle land, as well as market development.
Currently, branches 1 through 8 are operating at locations such as Busan Metro stations and Yongho Byeolbit Park, and the smart farm exported to Poland corresponds to the 9th branch.
Kang Jun-seok, president of BPA, said, “It is very meaningful to support local companies’ overseas market development through this BEF overseas expansion support project,” adding, “We will continue to provide ongoing support to the local community together with regional public institutions, aiming for greater regional economic revitalization and job creation.”
