VPIX Medical 'cCeLL' Certified as Next-Generation World-Class Product

VPIX Medical (CEO Hwang Kyung-min) has obtained the Next-Generation World-Class Product certification for its digital biopsy platform ‘cCeLL,’ hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by KOTRA.

The Next-Generation World-Class Product certification is conducted annually to diversify South Korea’s exports and secure future growth potential by evaluating marketability and growth prospects, based on the likelihood of current products becoming world-class products within the next seven years.

Developed based on ultra-small confocal fluorescence microscopy technology, 'cCeLL' provides real-time cellular-level tissue imaging during surgery in a non-invasive manner, helping surgeons accurately identify cancerous tissues and minimize damage to normal tissues. 'cCeLL' is offered in two types: ex vivo diagnostic medical device and in vivo diagnostic medical device. The 'cCeLL-Ex vivo' boasts a diagnostic speed more than 50% faster than conventional frozen tissue biopsy and a diagnostic accuracy exceeding 90%. Related research results have been published in the international journal Scientific Reports, and clinical validity verification with credibility is nearing completion through international multicenter clinical trials (Korea University Anam Hospital, Seoul National University Hospital, Samsung Medical Center, St. Michael Hospital). The 'cCeLL-In vivo' product also obtained the U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance in August this year, completing preparations for global expansion.

VPIX Medical, a tenant company of Seoul Bio Hub, is currently expanding its technology to various indications such as gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer, and prostate cancer, and is developing better cancer diagnostic solutions by combining AI-based diagnostic algorithms.
