This report meeting was organized to share the achievements of the Hantangang Garden Festa festival and to discuss plans for hosting the 2025 Hantangang Integrated Festival.

The Hantangang Garden Festa attracted a total of approximately 300,000 visitors, including 30,000 Pocheon citizens and 270,000 tourists. The city generated about 1.2 billion KRW in non-tax revenue and created a direct economic effect of 13 billion KRW.

According to the satisfaction survey results, the Garden Festa festival received positive evaluations in areas such as promoting the city of Pocheon, improving its image, and revitalizing the local economy. Additionally, a high percentage of respondents expressed a desire for the festival to continue, indicating the potential for sustainable development of the festival.

Visitor surveys and big data analysis by the Korea Tourism Data Lab showed that people of all age groups visited the festival site evenly. In particular, the proportion of family visitors reached 68.8%, highlighting the festival’s strong potential as a family-oriented event.

Furthermore, analysis of social networking services (SNS) related to Pocheon tourism revealed that tourists in their 60s most frequently mentioned the ‘Hantangang Ecological Landscape Complex.’

Based on these achievements, Pocheon City is discussing plans for the 2025 Pocheon Hantangang Integrated Festival, setting goals such as ▲developing a sustainable revenue generation model ▲fostering experiential tourism and the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry ▲responding to population decline through resident cooperation.

The city plans to divide the existing Hantangang festivals into spring and autumn seasonal events and expand the integrated festival by linking festivals held by various departments, such as the World Drone Festival, Agricultural and Livestock Products Festival, and Hantangang Geo Festival, with Hantangang.

Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “The Hantangang Garden Festa, centered around the Hantangang Y-shaped Suspension Bridge, which won the Excellence in Structural Engineering Award from the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE), attracted 300,000 tourists and established itself as a representative festival of the metropolitan area. We will thoroughly prepare for the 2025 Hantangang Integrated Festival to leap forward as a global tourism city, Pocheon.”
