This free opening was planned to expand sports activity spaces and improve citizen accessibility amid growing public interest in various exercises such as marathons and barefoot walking.
Previously, adults had to pay a fee of 1,200 KRW to use the athletics track, but reflecting citizens' opinions, a free operation policy was decided.
The athletics track will be available for free use starting December 2, and users must follow the established rules, including △ prohibition of kickboards, bicycles, inline skates, etc. △ no pets allowed △ adherence to usage hours.
An official from the city stated, “Through this free opening, we expect more citizens to participate in physical activities, contributing to the improvement of public health and quality of life,” and added, “We will continuously collect users' feedback to efficiently improve the operation system.”
