Cheongsong-gun Dementia Relief Center Wins Excellence Award at 'Gyeongbuk Province Dementia Overcoming Management Project Performance Competition'

Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, announced that the Cheongsong-gun Dementia Safety Center was selected as an excellent institution at the ‘2024 Gyeongbuk Province Dementia Overcoming Management Project Performance Conference’ held on the 27th at the Andong Stanford Hotel.

This conference was organized to review the achievements of dementia overcoming management projects carried out by dementia safety centers within Gyeongbuk Province over the past year, share best practices, and discuss the direction of next year’s projects.

The Cheongsong-gun Dementia Safety Center received an excellence award in recognition of its outstanding achievements in various fields such as dementia awareness improvement, region-specific projects, missing person prevention projects, and public dementia guardianship projects.

This year, the Cheongsong-gun Dementia Safety Center implemented various projects including dementia patient shelters, Our Village Pretty Dementia Shelter, family classes and self-help groups, operation of two dementia-friendly villages, visiting early dementia screening, and cognitive enhancement classes. They achieved 2,068 early dementia screenings for those aged 60 and over and customized case management for 374 individuals.

Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “Next year, we will continue to build a systematic management system to create a better Cheongsong-gun where people can live together without worries about dementia,” adding, “We will also continue to make efforts so that everyone can enjoy a safe and happy life free from dementia.”
