The Korea Audit Association selects institutions and auditors who have contributed to enhancing audit quality, spreading a culture of integrity and ethics, and realizing social value, and presents awards at the annual Korea Auditors Conference.
Since the appointment of Park Gong-woo as the Standing Auditor in December 2023, the Oil Corporation has reestablished its 'Mid- to Long-term Audit Strategy,' centered on a 'shift to preventive auditing,' reflecting the new auditor’s philosophy. This includes ▲expanding the scope of routine audits ▲activating pre-consulting ▲actively utilizing management recommendation authority ▲efforts to enhance integrity.
Based on the active implementation of the audit strategy, the Oil Corporation was selected as the 'Best Institution' in the Strategic Innovation category, marking its second consecutive year receiving the 'Best Institution Award' following 2023.
Standing Auditor Park Gong-woo said, “I am pleased that our various efforts, such as strengthening the internal control system to prevent fraud and misconduct incidents and leading by example to spread a culture of integrity and ethics, have been recognized. We will continue to support Korea National Oil Corporation to become a trusted institution by the public through ongoing audit strategy innovation.”
On the 27th, Standing Auditor Park Gong-woo also received the '2024 Best Auditor Award' at the '2024 Excellent Auditor Contest' announced by the Korea Public Institution Audit Association, recognizing his efforts to enhance the status and development of audit work in public institutions.
