Jeonnam Province Approves Release of 98% of Land from Agricultural Promotion Area Designation
The advanced agricultural complex project in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, led by County Governor Kim San, has received original approval for the change in the county management plan from the Jeollanam-do Urban Planning Committee.
According to the county on the 29th, the advanced agricultural complex is equipped with advanced facilities such as an agricultural technology center, scientific farming infrastructure, and new technology demonstration test fields on a site of approximately 210,000㎡ in Yanghak-ri, Hyeongyeong-myeon, with a total investment of 44.4 billion KRW.
Since November last year, the county submitted a proposal for the change in the management plan to Jeollanam-do and, through smooth consultations, secured this approval. Accordingly, about 70,000㎡ of agricultural promotion area within the project site will be released, and the entire project site will be designated as a public office (Agricultural Technology Center) as originally planned, accelerating the project implementation.
In particular, the release of the agricultural promotion area in 98% of the agricultural and forestry region was achieved thanks to the county’s efforts and the support of National Assembly member Seo Sam-seok. The county plans to proceed with the project without delay starting from the first half of next year through construction orders and other measures.
County Governor Kim San said, “I am grateful to Jeollanam-do for approving the county management plan for the advanced agricultural complex, which is a key project for our county, as originally proposed,” and added, “We will carry out the project smoothly to create a facility that can play its role for local agriculture amid the worsening climate crisis.”
The advanced agricultural complex project in Muan-gun is expected to promote the development of local agriculture and revitalize the regional economy.
