Signing of Investment Agreement with Kyobo
Mediplus Solution recently announced on the 29th that it has signed an investment contract worth a total of 8 billion KRW with Kyobo Shin Technology Investment Association No.1, a corporate venture capital of Kyobo Life Insurance.
This investment in Mediplus Solution was made in an environment characterized by population aging, medical digitalization, and increasing demand for remote medical systems, where the marketability of Mediplus Solution's health management platform was highly evaluated.
Mediplus Solution plans to use the secured funds to strengthen its customized health solution business and expand into businesses linked with insurance products.
To this end, Mediplus Solution will upgrade its core business, the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), by providing health management solutions applying digital technology, while enhancing personal health management functions such as ▲comprehensive health checkup scheduling and management ▲viewing checkup results ▲monitoring key indicators ▲post-management of individuals with findings to improve user convenience.
It will also enter the insurance product value-added service business. If users agree to provide information, continuous monitoring by experts and customized solutions will be offered to continuously check and manage health status, and optimized insurance products will be proposed to maximize the utility of insurance products.
Kim Sang-gyun, CEO of Mediplus Solution, stated, "Through this investment, we plan to establish a differentiated position in the digital healthcare market together with Kyobo Life Insurance," adding, "We will expand our business areas to help more people lead joyful and healthy lives."
Meanwhile, Mediplus Solution provides specialized healthcare solutions to cancer patients, chronic disease patients, and others based on data algorithms verified through clinical research with five major domestic hospitals, and is conducting a clinical demonstration study involving 5,000 participants with Seoul Asan Medical Center to observe the health improvement effects of mobile health management services.
