On the 29th, KT announced an organizational restructuring and executive appointments that combine information and communication technology (ICT) capabilities with artificial intelligence (AI).

First, the B2B organizations will be unified. The 'Strategy and New Business Division,' which had been responsible for AI convergence projects, will be merged into the 'Enterprise Division,' which has overseen B2B business. As a result, the newly operating Enterprise Division will possess business capabilities in new sectors such as AI, cloud, and platforms, innovating operations to apply customized solutions that meet diverse customer demands. Vice President Changyong Ahn, the current head of the Enterprise Division, will continue to lead the organization.

To consolidate and oversee KT Group's media business capabilities, the existing 'Media Platform Business Headquarters' under the Customer Division will be separated and newly established as the 'Media Division.' The Media Division will serve as the control tower for KT Group’s media business by strengthening the business portfolios of KT’s core IPTV service along with media group companies such as KT Skylife, KT Studio Genie, and Genie Music. Executive Director Chaehee Kim, who has served as head of strategic planning and overseen group management strategy and business development, has been appointed as the head of the Media Division.

The 'KT Consulting Group,' previously under the Technology Innovation Division and composed of experts in cloud, AI, and IT fields, will be expanded and reorganized into the 'Strategy and Business Consulting Division,' enhancing its technical consulting functions. The newly established Strategy and Business Consulting Division will include three new organizations: the 'GTM Headquarters,' responsible for discovering, proposing, and supporting AI transformation (AX) strategic projects; the 'TMO Headquarters,' tasked with executing next-generation IT projects; and the 'SPA Headquarters,' which strengthens partnerships with domestic and international tech companies, including strategic cooperation with Microsoft (MS). Executive Director Woojin Jung, head of the KT Consulting Group, will serve as the head of the Strategy and Business Consulting Division.

As a telecommunications service provider, KT plans to evolve its network operation system. It is preparing to launch two network technology specialist companies, 'KT Netcore' and 'KT P&M,' in January next year, which will be responsible for building and maintaining network infrastructure such as lines and power. While ensuring stable network infrastructure operation, KT aims to maintain and improve network quality through a flexible and swift work environment and decision-making system.

Going forward, KT will continue group-level business restructuring to improve management efficiency. To this end, it plans to actively recruit experts in key KT business areas such as media, AX, finance, and real estate to lead sustainable growth. Meanwhile, in the executive appointments announced on the same day, seven individuals were promoted from managing director to executive director, and 29 were promoted from deputy managing director to managing director within KT and its group companies.

Kim Young-seop, CEO of KT, stated, "Going forward, KT will lead the B2B IT market through global cooperation, and together with KT Group employees, we will take greater responsibility to become a company recognized by customers and the public through safe, stable, and advanced network operations."
