Gyeonggi Tourism Organization Announces Youth Opportunity Travel Director Contest... 10 Teams Selected with 27 Million KRW Prize

The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization held the ‘Gyeonggi Youth Opportunity Travel Director Tourism Product Contest’ from the 26th to the 28th at the Yangpyeong Bloomvista Hotel & Conference to discover new content for Gyeonggi tourism and to find youth startup ideas.


This contest was planned to provide practical opportunities for young people in Gyeonggi Province to plan new tourism products utilizing the distinctive tourism resources of the Gyeonggi region and to lead these ideas to startups.

A total of 20 teams who were selected and completed the education program of the Gyeonggi Youth Travel Director Development Project participated in the contest. Prior to the event, special lectures were held by Im Su-yeol, CEO of the hobby and leisure exploration platform ‘Frip,’ and Choi Hyun-jung, CEO of ‘Beedreamer,’ for improving IR skills. One-on-one mentoring with experts in related fields was also provided to help discover more refined ideas and support commercialization.


The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization selected a total of 10 awardees through expert judging: one grand prize winner, one excellence award winner, three merit award winners, and five encouragement award winners, distributing a total prize money of 27 million KRW.


Jo Won-yong, President of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, said, "I would like to thank everyone who showed great interest and participation in the Gyeonggi Youth Opportunity Travel Director Development Project education and contest, proposing fresh and creative ideas. We will do our best to actively reflect the creative ideas of prospective tourism entrepreneurs in the province to contribute to the revitalization of local tourism."


The Gyeonggi Youth Opportunity Travel Director Development Project, introduced for the first time this year, operates key programs such as in-depth tourism startup education, contests, and startup funding support to help young people in Gyeonggi Province plan new tourism products utilizing the distinctive tourism resources of the region and lead them to startups.
