Highly Praised for Creating a Family-Friendly Environment with Facilities Considerate of Parents and Children

Samcheok City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Park Sang-su) announced on the 29th that Samcheok Beach was selected as an excellent beach in the '2024 National Excellent Beach Evaluation' and received a commendation from the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries selected three excellent beaches nationwide (Samcheok Beach, Gyeongpodae in Gangneung, and Haeundae in Busan) through on-site inspections, first and second written evaluations, and presentation evaluations.
The Donghae Regional Oceans and Fisheries Office conducted on-site evaluations and the first written evaluation, and Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province conducted the second written evaluation (facility management, safety management, price management, and visitor satisfaction), selecting six beaches nationwide. The final three beaches were confirmed through the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' PPT presentation evaluation.
Samcheok Beach received high marks for creating a family-friendly environment by installing sandcastles as children's play facilities and providing a shelter with eaves for parents.
A Samcheok City official stated, "At the end of the year, we plan to install light sculptures at Samcheok Beach, which was selected as a national excellent beach, to create a unique space to welcome tourists," adding, "We will continue to improve convenience facilities and create attractions in the future."
