Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) has established a comprehensive countermeasure against jeonse fraud, making every effort to prevent jeonse fraud damage and protect the property rights of residents.


The district operates the ‘Safe Jeonse and Monthly Rent Contract Assistance Service for Single-Person Households’ and the ‘Jeonse Fraud Damage 365 Open Window’ to prevent and support victims of jeonse fraud.


To more effectively inform residents about these services, advertisements have been posted on 90 branch buses across seven major routes within the area. By attaching advertisements inside and outside buses frequently used by residents, the district aims to increase service awareness through repeated exposure and prevent jeonse fraud damage in advance.


The buses with advertisements are routes 5511, 5515, 5517, 5519, 5522A, 5523, and 5524, which are major routes passing through Gwanak-gu. The advertisement includes information about the operation of the ‘Safe Jeonse and Monthly Rent Contract Assistance Service for Single-Person Households’ and the ‘Jeonse Fraud Damage 365 Open Window,’ allowing residents to easily check information on jeonse fraud prevention and support at a glance.


Since the launch of the ‘Safe Jeonse and Monthly Rent Contract Assistance Service for Single-Person Households’ in July 2022, the district has provided assistance 1,022 times to 802 people as of November 2024.

This service offers customized support free of charge to single-person households residing in or planning to move to Gwanak-gu, including ▲consultation on jeonse and monthly rent contracts ▲support for housing search ▲accompaniment for house viewing ▲guidance on housing policies. Applicants can receive help from housing safety managers composed of licensed real estate agents familiar with the local situation.


Consultations on jeonse and monthly rent contracts are held every Monday and Thursday from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Real Estate Information Division on the first floor of Gwanak-gu Office and can be applied for through the Seoul Single-Person Household Portal.


Additionally, to prevent jeonse fraud damage and support victims, the district operates the ‘Jeonse Fraud Damage 365 Open Window’ on the KakaoTalk channel and the district website. Through this, detailed and customized information is promptly provided, ranging from prevention methods for different types of jeonse fraud to government support information under the Special Act on Jeonse Fraud Damage.
