Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will recruit students for lifelong learning courses for the first quarter of 2025 at the YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center to support the learning and growth of its residents.
Located in Daerim-dong, the YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center is a space that has established an educational ecosystem covering all life stages from infants to the elderly, supporting everyone to become the subject of learning.
It also provides opportunities to simultaneously achieve self-development and career growth through courses on various topics.
Starting from the first quarter recruitment of 2025, a “Resident Priority Registration System” will be introduced to offer local residents priority learning opportunities. Yeongdeungpo residents can apply on a first-come, first-served basis from 9 a.m. on December 2, and from 9 a.m. on December 5, anyone can apply regardless of their place of residence. Course registration is conducted through the district’s integrated reservation system on the official website.
In the first quarter, a total of 31 courses will be offered in three fields: ▲“Life” that brightens me (arts, hobbies, healing) ▲“Competence” that nurtures me (digital, certifications, jobs) ▲“Knowledge” that fills me (health, parent education, languages, humanities).
Additionally, considering the lifestyle patterns of various age groups such as office workers, parents, children, and adolescents, night and weekend courses will continue to be offered, and the “One-day Special Lectures,” which received great response this year, will also continue.
During the winter vacation, weekend programs that the whole family can enjoy together will also be operated. These include various experiential courses that can be done with children such as ▲making RC cars & aero rockets ▲creating unique 3D pen artworks ▲picture book craft playground, as well as practical educational courses for parents like “Habroota Education Method Practiced at Home.”
The YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center also operates the “YDP Talent Sharing” platform where individuals can freely share their knowledge and talents. Various courses such as ▲tarot card reading ▲natural healing yoga ▲basic Spanish ▲organizing and storage ▲sports rehabilitation PT are offered free of charge, promoting self-development among residents and fostering a culture of talent sharing within the community.
The courses will be held at the YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center from January 2 to March 31, 2025, and the tuition fees range from free to within 30,000 KRW depending on the course. However, material costs are separate. For more details, inquiries can be made to the YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center.
The district continues various projects to spread lifelong learning culture and improve the quality of learning, including ▲lifelong education vouchers ▲adult literacy education ▲university-linked lifelong learning programs ▲dong (neighborhood) lifelong learning centers ▲excellent lifelong learning clubs.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “As a lifelong learning city, Yeongdeungpo-gu actively supports all residents to learn, grow, and flexibly respond to the changing times,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to create an environment where residents can nurture their dreams and talents and prepare for the future.”
