This photo appears to be a meme (a photo trending online) showing a satellite image of the Korean Peninsula covered in white, with only the Busan area appearing green, indicating that Busan is a city where it rarely snows. However, it was revealed that this photo was taken during the heavy snowfall in January 2010 and is unrelated to the recent snowstorm. One netizen who saw the photo reacted by saying, "Did you turn on the heater on the Korean Peninsula tiger?" Here, "heater" (eongtteu) humorously refers to the phrase "my butt is warm," cleverly expressing that only the Busan area, which corresponds to the buttocks of the tiger-shaped Korean Peninsula, is warm.
In response, netizens living in Busan posted photos of clear weather, commenting, "Busan is like Hawaii right now," "Please send us some snow by delivery so we can see it too," "Busan is under a protective barrier," and "As expected, the nation of Eongtta." According to the Korea Meteorological Administration's forecast, the probability of precipitation in Busan that day was 0%. The lowest temperature was 4 degrees Celsius, and the highest temperature during the day was 12 degrees Celsius, showing relatively sunny weather.

During the same period, Seoul experienced 24.5 days of snow.
Meanwhile, on the 27th, Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province recorded a daily maximum snow depth of 32.3 cm, the highest since observations began in 1964. At the Jongno District meteorological observatory in Seoul, which is the standard for snowfall measurements, 28.6 cm of snow was recorded as of 8 AM, marking the third highest amount since modern meteorological observations began on October 1, 1907.
