You can apply for up to 3 items
Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Jang Se-il) announced on the 28th that it will provide assistive devices for people with disabilities to minimize activity restrictions for low-income disabled individuals, ensuring convenience and safety in daily life and supporting independent living.
This support project provides assistive devices according to the type of disability, and the eligible recipients are registered individuals with physical, brain lesion, visual, auditory, heart, respiratory, speech, autism, or intellectual disabilities under the Disabled Welfare Act among basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups.
Assistive device support allows up to three items per person annually within a total support limit of 2 million KRW.
However, those who have already received the same type of assistive device or still have remaining durability on previously received devices of the same type are excluded from support.
The provided items include a total of 42 types such as ▲pressure ulcer prevention cushions and mattresses ▲standing trainers ▲walkers ▲bath chairs ▲electric beds ▲portable toilets ▲urine collection devices ▲wheelchairs for the disabled ▲car seats for the disabled ▲supports and handles (safety handles) ▲ramps ▲optical character readers ▲voice guidance devices ▲visual signal indicators ▲video magnifiers (reading magnifiers), among others.
Disabled individuals wishing to apply can do so at their local eup/myeon office. After reviewing eligibility criteria, the National Pension Service conducts a comprehensive service survey, and the Jeollanam-do Assistive Device Center performs a suitability evaluation. Final support is provided based on the results.
A county official stated, “We expect that conveniently using assistive devices tailored to the needs and demands of people with disabilities will ensure their safety and contribute to expanding social participation.”
