The 'Gyeonggi Agricultural Products Apple and Pear Contest' is a biennial event held to discover outstanding fruit farmers in Gyeonggi Province and encourage the improvement of agricultural product quality. The contest conducts strict evaluations targeting apples and pears. Kang Jeom-seok’s pears, which scored highly in various categories such as sugar content, fruit weight, hardness, appearance, uniformity, coloration, and taste, received high praise from the judges.
Kang Jeom-seok said, “The clean natural environment of Yangpyeong-gun and continuous research on cultivation techniques have led to these good results,” adding, “I will continue to do my best to produce high-quality fruits that consumers can trust and seek out.”
Jo Geun-su, director of the Yangpyeong-gun Agricultural Technology Center, stated, “This award is an example that shows the technical skills and efforts of fruit farmers in Yangpyeong-gun,” and added, “We will continue to explore various technological research and practical measures for high-quality fruit cultivation, striving to increase local farmers’ income and develop the fruit industry in Yangpyeong-gun.”
