Various Activities to Achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2050
Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced on the 28th that it held a "Suncheon City Carbon Neutrality Green Growth Basic Plan Establishment Public Hearing" for the implementation of carbon neutrality and green growth at the Ecological Business Center Conference Hall on the 27th.
The public hearing was attended by about 50 people, including related officials, environmental experts, and local residents, and proceeded in the order of presentation of the basic plan (draft), expert discussion, and Q&A session.

At the public hearing, the Local Administration Development Institute, which was commissioned to establish the "1st Suncheon City Carbon Neutrality Green Growth Basic Plan (draft)," presented the basic plan (draft) containing various sectoral greenhouse gas reduction measures such as road transportation and absorption sources.
Following this, in the expert discussion, Song Seung-heon, Director of the Green Energy Research Institute, chaired the session, with Professors Park Kwon-pil and Park Seong-hoon of Suncheon University and Song Jae-ryeong, Director of the National Green Research Institute, participating as discussants to share diverse opinions on the direction of the basic plan.
Additionally, a Q&A session was held to resolve residents' questions and listen to their opinions.
The city plans to establish the "1st Suncheon City Carbon Neutrality Green Growth Basic Plan (draft)" by April next year and, based on this, carry out various carbon neutrality activities aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
A city official stated, "We will reflect the various opinions presented at the public hearing to establish a high-quality basic plan and advance as a leading city in carbon neutrality," and added, "We ask for the continuous interest and cooperation of the citizens."
