24 Damage Reports Received Over Two Days Until the 28th

In Gwangju and Jeonnam, as the strong winds and snow/rain that had continued since the 27th subsided somewhat, reports of damage caused by the strong winds continued to come in.
According to Gwangju City and Jeonnam Province on the 28th, as of 9 a.m. that day, a total of 24 cases of damage (11 in Gwangju and 13 in Jeonnam) caused by strong winds were reported. Most of the damage involved fallen trees, building signboards, and exterior structures falling, with no casualties reported.
The Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration lifted the strong wind advisory issued at 10 a.m. that day for 12 cities and counties in Gwangju and Jeonnam (Naju, Damyang, Gokseong, Gurye, Jangseong, Hwasun, Goheung, Boseong, Gwangyang, Suncheon, Jangheung, Gangjin).
In some areas, the strong wind advisory was lifted or downgraded from late afternoon the previous day. Currently, the strong wind advisory issued for Gwangju and Naju, Damyang, Gokseong, Gurye, Jangseong, Hwasun, Goheung, Boseong, Gwangyang, Suncheon, Jangheung, and Gangjin has been lifted. The strong wind warnings issued for Yeosu, Haenam, Wando, Yeongam, Muan, Hampyeong, Yeonggwang, Mokpo, Sinan, Geomundo, and Chodo have been downgraded to advisories.
Snow or rain is expected to continue until the early morning of the 30th due to the influence of a low-pressure trough. The expected snowfall amount is 1 to 3 cm in the inland eastern part of Jeonnam, and the expected precipitation is 5 to 10 mm in Gwangju and Jeonnam.
Waves at sea will be high, with a storm warning issued for the seas off the West Sea and South Sea, where strong winds of 30 to 80 km/h (9 to 22 m/s) will blow for the time being, and wave heights will reach 2 to 4 meters.
A representative from the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration said, “In preparation for heavy snow and strong winds, please inspect facilities and crops such as signboards, vinyl greenhouses, and fallen fruit, and be cautious of traffic accidents and pedestrian safety accidents.”
