Firefighter Hero Awards Ceremony Held
S-OIL held the 'Firefighter Hero Awards Ceremony' on the 28th at the Yongsan Locus Hotel in collaboration with the Korea National Council on Social Welfare, presenting plaques and a total of 90 million KRW in prize money to eight firefighters.

Yu Seung-geol, Fire Lieutenant (Namyangju Fire Station, Gyeonggi), who was selected as the 'Top Hero Firefighter' by a judging panel composed of fire-related experts, received a plaque and 20 million KRW in prize money. Additionally, seven 'Hero Firefighters,' including Fire Sergeant Kim Kwang-su (Cheongsong Fire Station, Gyeongsang), were each awarded plaques and 10 million KRW.
Fire Lieutenant Yu Seung-geol rescued one person through underwater search during a drowning accident in Changhyeon-ri, Hwado-eup, Namyangju City in June. He also responded to a warehouse fire in Ilpae-dong, Namyangju City in April and safely rescued a missing person with intellectual disabilities in Wabu-eup, Namyangju City. Last winter, he safely rescued an elderly person with severe dementia. With an outstanding record of 978 fire incidents and 1,624 rescue operations, he was recognized for his strong sense of duty and rescue activities.
Seven firefighters were selected as hero firefighters for their self-sacrificing spirit in saving lives at fire and various disaster scenes: Fire Sergeant Kim Kwang-su (Cheongsong Fire Station, Gyeongsang), Fire Lieutenant Kim Yong-su (Yeongjong Fire Station, Incheon), Fire Lieutenant Kim Wook (Dunsan Fire Station, Daejeon), Fire Lieutenant Seong Hoon (Pyeongtaek Fire Station, Gyeonggi-do), Fire Sergeant Yoon Sung-yeol (Jincheon Fire Station, Chungbuk), Fire Lieutenant Lee Dae-sik (Dongbu Fire Station, Jeju), and Fire Lieutenant Jo Jong-seok (Dalseong Fire Station, Daegu).
