Donation of Korean Rice Processed Foods Worth 40 Million Won

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 28th that it held a delivery ceremony for the Nonghyup Happiness Package for low-income families in Goyang City with NH Nonghyup Bank Goyang Branch at the Mayor's Office on the 27th.

The delivery ceremony was attended by Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, Oh Young-seok, Head of NH Nonghyup Bank Goyang Branch, Kwon Ki-soon, Branch Manager of Goyang City Hall Office Branch, and 10 others including Lee Kyung-ah, Head of the Northern Gyeonggi Headquarters of the Community Chest of Korea.

Through this delivery ceremony, the city received a donation of 2,024 sets of happiness packages containing processed rice products made from Korean rice worth 40 million KRW, including instant rice, rice noodles, and rice snacks. The donated items will be distributed to underprivileged families in Goyang City through the Community Chest of Korea to help them have a warm winter.

Oh Young-seok, Head of NH Nonghyup Bank Goyang Branch, said, "In line with changes in dietary habits and lifestyles, we considered ways to promote rice consumption and delivered processed rice products instead of rice to neighbors in need in Goyang City. We will continue to walk with the local community and strive to make Goyang a happy city."

Meanwhile, NH Nonghyup Bank Goyang Branch was also awarded the 2024 Gyeonggi Province Governor’s Commendation for the Spread of Sharing Culture in recognition of its continuous social contribution activities in the local community, such as donating rice of love, supporting social welfare institutions and facilities, and sponsoring school bags for children from low-income families.
