Writer Lee Seon-ok, who has voiced critical opinions on feminism, questioned the scandal involving actor Jung Woo-sung's child born out of wedlock by asking, "If a woman decides to give birth on her own, who can say that someone made her a single mother?" On the 26th, Lee posted on her social media, "An adult woman chose to have a child and gave birth, so is the man responsible for making her a single mother?" she criticized, adding, "A 35-year-old woman is not a brainwashed minor, so can anyone just make her a single mother?"

Lee pointed out, "When some women advocate for abortion rights, they claim, 'A woman's body belongs to the woman, and whether it's abortion or childbirth, only the woman has the right to choose what happens to her body.' Yet, when a woman decides to give birth and raise a child, they shift responsibility to the man, accusing him of making a single mother without even dating her." She shared an article criticizing Jung Woo-sung and added, "Wasn't the demand to include men in abortion penalties a call for men to share responsibility after childbirth? In Jung Woo-sung's case, since he is willing to take responsibility, there is no reason to give such a headline to the article."

Furthermore, she argued, "Other people's lives belong to themselves. It is not a matter of projecting one's own passions to criticize or hold someone accountable." She added, "If you think that this incident has made the woman's (Moon Ga-bi's) life unhappy, then the lesson to be learned is to practice better contraception in your own life."

According to a previous entertainment media report, Moon Ga-bi and Jung Woo-sung first met through a gathering in 2022 and grew close. It was reported that Moon Ga-bi became pregnant with Jung Woo-sung's child in June of last year. Jung Woo-sung's agency, Artist Company, stated on the 24th, "The child publicly acknowledged by Moon Ga-bi is indeed Jung Woo-sung's biological child," and added, "We are discussing the best way to raise the child and will take full responsibility until the end."

As this scandal involving a child born out of wedlock surfaced, Jung Woo-sung, who has actively expressed his opinions on social issues, faced criticism from the public calling him "hypocritical." However, as time passed, voices defending Jung Woo-sung have also emerged.

On the same day, Lee So-young, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, expressed her thoughts on social media, saying, "In a society where divorced couples who have children are allowed and their choices respected, can men and women who have children but do not marry and live separately be subject to criticism? Then is it okay if they marry after having a child and then divorce?" She added, "I don't understand why such matters are subject to judgment and evaluation in the first place. The decision to live with someone is a very existential one."
