Gyeongnam National University Wins Ministry of Education's 'Excellent Education Donation Institution' Award for the Second Consecutive Year Gyeongnam National University campus view.

Since its first selection in 2021, the university’s efforts to lead the cultivation of creative talents by utilizing its human and material resources, as well as its leadership in social return of education and establishment of a sharing culture, have been nationally recognized.

Previously, since being selected in 2018 as the ‘Sports and Arts Education Donation Hub University’ representing the Gyeongsang region, Gyeongnam National University has promoted various educational donations targeting underserved areas and groups such as remote schools in the Gyeongsang region, local children’s centers, and welfare centers for the disabled.

With this re-certification, Gyeongnam National University will maintain its certification status for three years until 2027, and has been granted the right to use the ‘Outstanding Education Donation Institution Designation Certificate and Plaque’ issued by the Minister of Education, as well as the ‘Education Donation Certification Mark’ that can be used during education donation-related activities.

Taking this certification as an opportunity, Gyeongnam National University plans to further expand the scope of education donation and strive to build a sustainable development model. The university also intends to broaden the range of education donation activities through the development of various programs utilizing its expertise and through industry-academia-research cooperation, creating a 21st-century advanced education system where both participants and the local community can thrive together.

Kim Chang-yoon, Director of Student Affairs, said, “This renewal certification is the result of our university’s utmost dedication to educational responsibility and contribution to the local community. We will continue to strive to become a university that grows together with the local community through education donation, aiming to nurture digital talents for the 21st century.”
