Uijeongbu-si Successfully Concludes '2024 Resident Autonomy Committee Activity Sharing Meeting'

Residents' Autonomy Committee Holds a Forum for Communication and Cooperation

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 27th that it held the ‘2024 Resident Autonomy Committee Activity Sharing Meeting’ at the city hall auditorium on the 26th.

Following last year’s first activity sharing meeting, this second event was organized to share excellent cases of resident autonomy in each neighborhood and to promote future development.

With 120 attendees including members of the resident autonomy committees from 15 neighborhoods and related officials, the first part of the event included ▲ congratulatory performances ▲ awards for resident autonomy revitalization ▲ sharing of operation evaluation results, and in the second part, resident autonomy committee members took the lead as presenters to continue with ▲ presentations of excellent cases by neighborhood ▲ and a time for communication.

For the congratulatory performance, the ‘Together with GOGO’ team from Singok 1-dong, who represented Uijeongbu City at the Gyeonggi-do Resident Autonomy Cultural Contest in August, energized the atmosphere with an exciting Janggu drum performance.

The excellent case presentations included ▲ Uijeongbu 1-dong’s ‘The Secret to High Voter Turnout in the Resident General Assembly’ ▲ Songsan 3-dong’s ‘Operation of the Resident General Assembly Public Forum’ ▲ Singok 2-dong’s ‘Let’s Challenge Carbon ZERO! Let’s Join Globally!’ which attracted attention.

During the communication time, participants freely discussed resident autonomy activities and shared what resident autonomy means to them, gathering diverse opinions such as ▲ village community ▲ happiness ▲ the center of my life.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “I would like to express my gratitude and encouragement to the resident autonomy committee members who have worked tirelessly over the past year on agenda discovery, resident general assemblies, and implementation of autonomy plans,” adding, “We will continue to provide wholehearted support for the development of the resident autonomy committees.”
