Benefits Including Admission Fee Discounts at Seomjingang Train Village
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 27th that starting from January next year, travelers using the train to visit Gokseong will receive various benefits such as a 50% discount on train fares and discounted admission to Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village.
On the 27th, Gokseong-gun and Korea Railroad Corporation signed a business agreement to revitalize railway tourism to overcome the crisis in depopulated areas. They will operate the “Reconnecting Korea, Local Love Railway Travel” product, which consists of train travel creation, free travel products, and package products through travel agencies.

These benefits will apply not only in Gokseong-gun but also in 33 local governments that have signed business agreements with Korea Railroad Corporation when traveling.
The usage method is to use a round-trip train product to and from Gokseong for the same day, 1 night 2 days, or 2 nights 3 days, and then receive a 50% discount coupon by QR authentication via the KORAIL Talk app at one of up to 10 designated tourist spots in Gokseong-gun.
In addition to train fare discounts, plans are in place for linked tourist taxis, discounts on major tourist attractions and experience products, and cooperation with local commercial districts, which are expected to contribute not only to the revitalization of local tourism but also to the mutual development of the region.
Jo Sang-rae, the mayor of Gokseong-gun, said, “With this business agreement, the train travel route to visit Gokseong has been wide open. We hope many people will visit Gokseong, where there are various sights, food, and activities, with lighter wallets.”
