Dongdaemun-gu Staff Working Through the Dawn... 292 Personnel, 237 Equipment Units, 153 Tons of Materials Deployed
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) began snow removal operations immediately after confirming snow accumulation on vulnerable sections and side streets around 2 a.m. on the 27th, and conducted snow removal across all areas starting from 3 a.m.
To ensure residents' safe commute, snow removal was carried out everywhere residents frequent, from bus stops and main roads to side streets and alleys.
The district actively utilized snow removal equipment such as sidewalk snow blowers for swift and efficient snow clearing. Additionally, since last year, the number of dedicated snow removal personnel has been significantly increased to reduce the workload on employees.
On the day, Mayor Lee Pil-hyung of Dongdaemun-gu also visited the snow removal site, clearing snow piled on side streets and sidewalks alongside the staff to encourage them.
A total of 292 personnel, 237 pieces of equipment, and 153 tons of materials were deployed for the snow removal operation, with a snowfall amount of 11.5 cm observed at 6 a.m.
