Simultaneous Online and Offline Activities...Expecting to Support Vulnerable Groups and Spread Donation Culture
‘Sharing Day’ Held on the 11th...Temperature Tower Unveiling, Cultural Performances, and Bazaar Scheduled
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will conduct the ‘2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign’ to spread a culture of sharing until February 14 next year.
The ‘Warm Winter Campaign’ (hereafter referred to as ‘Daggyeo’) is a representative neighbor-helping project that shares warmth through voluntary donation activities. Gwangjin-gu, Gwangjin Welfare Foundation, and Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest cooperate to support the livelihood stability of vulnerable groups.
Those who wish to participate can visit the Welfare Policy Division of Gwangjin-gu Office, the local community service centers, or the Gwangjin Welfare Foundation. Online donations are also possible through Gwangjin-gu’s dedicated account and QR code. Donations can be made in cash or in-kind (food, daily necessities), and tax benefits are provided at the end of the year after donating.
The collected funds will be used to support vulnerable groups in urgent need or those in welfare blind spots. Support will be provided to basic livelihood security recipients with median income below 120%, low-income groups, elderly living alone, persons with disabilities, and multicultural families.
Additionally, on December 11, the ‘2nd Gwangjin Sharing Day’ event will be held at the Gwangjin-gu Office auditorium. Following the presentation of appreciation plaques to outstanding donors, a temperature tower unveiling ceremony announcing the ‘Daggyeo’ declaration is planned. Various cultural and artistic performances and a ‘Sharing Bazaar’ with local residents will also be operated to add enjoyment.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “This campaign is a meaningful welfare project that realizes win-win welfare through public-private cooperation,” and added, “We hope that warm hands will be extended to neighbors in need so that the cold winter can be filled with warmth.”
