Yeoncheon-gun "All Residents, Please Apply for Care"

A 62-year-old Mr. A, who had been living and working alone, suddenly fell seriously ill and found himself in a difficult situation after working until a month ago. Having lived in the company dormitory and used all his sick leave, he has now resigned from the company and must find another place to stay. To make matters worse, he needs to visit the hospital daily, but his only sibling lives far away and cannot accompany him to the hospital each time. In this situation, a colleague who worked with him called the Administrative Welfare Center’s Customized Welfare Team and was informed about the "Anyone Care Service." With the help of the Anyone Care Service, Mr. A was accompanied to the hospital and received support for his care needs. He is currently staying near his family and receiving their care.

This is the case of 62-year-old Mr. A, who received the Anyone Care Service last March. Yeoncheon County has established a system that allows any resident of Yeoncheon County to receive care services in emergencies caused by sudden illness or other reasons. When urgent care is needed, residents can request assistance at their local eup/myeon Administrative Welfare Center by explaining the reason for the urgent care. The Anyone Care staff at the eup/myeon will conduct consultations and on-site verification to check income and property criteria, and provide support for daily care, accompaniment care, housing safety, meal support, and temporary protection for up to 15 days.

This system was supported through Gyeonggi Province’s 2024 pilot project competition, enabling any resident of Yeoncheon County to receive urgent care. Since the promotion began in 2024, a total of 466 Yeoncheon residents have received support as of November.

Kim Jeong-hye, Director of the Welfare Policy Division, stated, “If there are any residents in need of urgent care, we will do our best to promote the program and provide support so that anyone can apply.”
