Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jin-seon) announced on the 27th that it received the Excellence Award in the ‘2024 Gyeonggi-do Road Maintenance Evaluation’.
Gyeonggi-do conducts regular inspections to maintain road functionality and prevent safety accidents, and annually evaluates road maintenance by inspecting roads in all cities and counties during the first and second halves of the year to assess road management status.
The province conducted a comprehensive evaluation through on-site assessments covering road pavement, slopes, bridges and tunnels, drainage facilities, road signs, flood recovery, snow removal, illegal facilities, road environment, and road cleanliness for 31 cities and counties.
Yangpyeong-gun, which won the Excellence Award in this evaluation, was recognized for its efforts reflected in the assessment, such as establishing snow removal measures including pre-preparation of snow removal materials in winter, maintaining road slopes and shoulders, repairing road signs, and maintaining safety facilities to provide a pleasant and safe road environment.
Following this result, the county achieved the remarkable feat of winning awards for two consecutive years, receiving the Encouragement Award in the ‘2023 Road Maintenance Evaluation,’ the Encouragement Award in the ‘2023?2024 Winter Road Snow Removal Evaluation,’ and this year’s Excellence Award in the ‘2024 Road Maintenance Evaluation.’
Governor Jeon Jin-seon stated, “We will actively strive for road maintenance to provide a safe and pleasant road environment,” and added, “By establishing winter road snow removal measures, we will do our best to remove snow efficiently and promptly so that road users do not experience any inconvenience while traveling.”
