Proactive Safety Management for Accident Prevention in Winter

Gwangju Transportation Corporation announced on the 27th that it conducted a special CEO on-site inspection on the 26th at Dong-gu Yongsan Vehicle Depot and Sotae Station to prepare for the winter season and initiated proactive safety management activities to prevent accidents during winter.
During the inspection, the overall winter preparation status was thoroughly checked, including the management of winter equipment such as snow removal supplies, the condition of facilities like machine rooms, and measures to prevent freezing and fire in response to the cold wave.
Earlier, on the 25th, the corporation conducted an 'Emergency Response Drill for Disaster Preparedness with the CEO' at the integrated control room. The drill simulated a situation where heavy snowfall caused an obstruction on the train tracks and included a 'reverse block operation training' (a drill attempting normal operation by using the opposite direction track when train operation is difficult), enhancing the response capabilities of on-site staff.
Additionally, the corporation operates a disaster management manual to systematically respond by analyzing risks according to disaster types, and is intensifying the safety capabilities of its executives and employees through various training sessions prepared for unusual situations.
