Brian Impact, Final 5 Selected for 'Brian Fellow Season 5'

The Brian Impact Foundation announced on the 27th that it has selected the final five fellows for Season 5 of the 'Brian Fellow' program, which supports social innovators, and will provide support for their social innovation activities.

Brian Impact is a foundation established by Kim Beom-su, the founder of Kakao, that discovers and supports innovative organizations and innovators addressing social issues through artificial intelligence (AI) and science and technology.

The Brian Fellow program focuses on the individual activities contributing to solving social problems and supports those who wish to create a better world to continue their innovative challenges. Selected Brian Fellows receive a monthly activity grant of 3 million KRW for up to four years, along with support for necessary networks, technology, and platforms.

The fellows selected this time are ▲ Kim Kyung-mok (Co-CEO of Byeolddareogaja Co., Ltd.) ▲ Kim Jae-won (CEO of Refilli Co., Ltd.) ▲ Park Soo-bin (Co-CEO of Gyedanppusyeo Club) ▲ Jung Taek-soo (CEO of Netspa Co., Ltd.) ▲ Jo Hyun-sik (CEO of On-gi Foundation), totaling five individuals.

Brian Impact stated that this season, the activities of candidates using technology to solve social problems particularly stood out. These include an AI motion sensor device to enhance the safety of two-wheeled vehicle drivers, paper pack packaging production technology, recycled nylon extraction technology using discarded fishing nets, and stair information collection activities and exploration app services for mobility-impaired individuals.

In addition to the monthly activity grants, Brian Impact also supports networking to help fellows expand their influence in solving social problems. Through the 'Brian Fellow Community,' it provides a platform for collaboration and connects experts from various fields to build a support base for their activities. Technical and platform support is also provided through a business agreement with the Kakao Impact Foundation.

Project Directors Lee Soo-yeon and Choi Seung-hye of Brian Impact said, "We believe that discovering and supporting innovators who are creating positive changes throughout society plays an important role in further spreading the social impact they generate," adding, "We hope that the innovative changes led by them will continue to have a positive influence on society in various ways."
