According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 26th, snowfall of 1 to 3 cm per hour is expected from dawn to morning in the metropolitan area, northern Chungbuk, eastern Jeonbuk, and northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk; until night in the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon; and from morning to night in the mountainous areas of Jeju Island. For Seoul, this will be the first snowfall of the year. However, there is also a possibility of a heavy snow warning being issued for the central region. Snow is expected to stop from afternoon to night in northern Gyeonggi, central and northern Gangwon, and the Gyeongsang region. Additionally, there will be gusts of wind and thunder and lightning mainly in the central region.


The expected snowfall from the night of that day until the 28th is 5 to 15 cm in eastern and southwestern inland Gyeonggi, inland Gangwon, and Jeju Island (with some areas in the metropolitan area and inland Gangwon exceeding 20 cm); 3 to 8 cm in Seoul, Incheon, western coastal Gyeonggi, and northwestern inland Gyeonggi (with some areas exceeding 10 cm); 2 to 7 cm in the five western islands of the West Sea, Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, western inland Gyeongbuk, and western inland Gyeongnam; 10 to 20 cm in Gangwon mountainous areas (with some areas exceeding 30 cm); 5 to 10 cm in Chungbuk and northeastern mountainous Gyeongbuk (with some areas in northern Chungbuk exceeding 15 cm); 3 to 10 cm in eastern Jeonbuk (with some areas exceeding 15 cm); 1 to 5 cm in eastern inland Jeonnam, northeastern inland Gyeongbuk, and central northern inland Gyeongbuk; 1 to 3 cm in western Jeonbuk; and around 1 cm in the eastern coast of Gangwon, Daegu, central southern inland Gyeongbuk, eastern coastal Gyeongbuk, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo.


The expected precipitation during the same period is 5 to 30 mm in the five western islands of the West Sea, Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, and Jeju Island; 5 to 20 mm in Chungbuk, Gwangju, and Jeonnam; 5 to 10 mm in the eastern coast of Gangwon, western inland Gyeongnam, Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo; and about 1 mm in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (excluding western inland areas).


Cold weather will continue the next day. The morning low temperature is expected to be between -4 and 6 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high temperature between 1 and 11 degrees Celsius. Fine dust levels are expected to be 'good.'


Sea waves will be 1.0 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea coastal waters, 1.5 to 5.5 meters in the West Sea coastal waters, and 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the South Sea coastal waters. In the offshore waters (about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 1.5 to 5.0 meters in the East Sea, 2.0 to 5.5 meters in the West Sea, and 1.5 to 5.5 meters in the South Sea.
