‘Park Golf Mecca’ Hwacheon-gun, Gangwon-do "All the Best Players Gather This Year"

July 27-28, '2024 National Park Golf King of Kings Finals' Held
231 Men and Women Advance to Finals... Total Prize Money 56 Million KRW, Winner 10 Million KRW

The final showdown to determine the top park golf player in Korea this year will take place in Hwacheon, Gangwon Province, known as the "center of park golf" in South Korea.


Hwacheon County, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Choi Moon-soon) announced on the 26th that the Hwacheon County Sports Council will hold the final round of the "2024 National Park Golf King of Kings Championship" over two days, from the 27th to the 28th, at the Sancheoneo Park Golf Course in Hanam-myeon, Hwacheon County.

The final stage will feature 119 men and 112 women who advanced through seven preliminary rounds held from the 5th to the 20th. The final rankings will be determined by the combined scores of 72 holes over two days, with the lowest stroke count winning.


True to its name as the King of Kings Championship, the total prize money for the tournament amounts to 56 million KRW, with the male and female champions each receiving 10 million KRW. Additionally, the runners-up in both divisions will receive 5 million KRW, third place 3 million KRW, fourth place 2 million KRW, fifth place 1 million KRW, sixth place 700,000 KRW, and seventh place 500,000 KRW. Players ranked 8th to 15th will also receive 300,000 KRW in prize money.


Separate from the ranking prizes, event prize money will be awarded to the 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th, 80th, and 90th place finishers in both the men's and women's divisions.


Choi Moon-soon, Hwacheon County Governor, stated, "We will make every effort to prepare the tournament so that Hwacheon can firmly establish its position as the center of park golf in South Korea."


Meanwhile, the "2024 National Park Golf King of Kings Championship" is hosted by the Hwacheon County Sports Council and supported by Hwacheon County, the Korea Park Golf Association, and the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Park Golf Association.
