Almost collided with Jin Air aircraft taking off ahead while crossing the holding line during taxiway entry
Safely took off and arrived... Authorities from both countries are investigating
At Osaka Airport in Japan, a T'way Air aircraft crossed the taxi hold line on the runway, nearly causing a collision with another aircraft. Authorities from both countries are currently investigating the incident.
According to industry sources on the 26th, around noon the previous day, T'way Air flight TW246 bound for Jeju was moving onto the runway at Osaka Kansai Airport for takeoff when it crossed the hold line and stopped. At that time, Jin Air flight LJ234, which had entered the runway earlier, was taking off, creating a situation where a collision could have occurred.
Fortunately, there was no physical contact between the two aircraft. Both safely took off and arrived at their destinations without delay.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea and Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism are investigating T'way Air and the air traffic control facilities in relation to this matter.
The approximate flight paths of the two aircraft were recorded by the flight tracking service FlightRadar24.
